Family Central is contracted with the Florida Department of Health as a sponsor for the USDA Child Care Food Program to sponsor licensed family child care homes in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties and child care centers in Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties.

What are the benefits of participating in the Child Care Food Program?

• Children receive nutritious meals.

• Providers receive valuable reimbursement money to help with their meal costs.

• Reimbursement rates are adjusted every year by the USDA.

• Technical assistance is available to providers to help them get started and is ongoing throughout the year.

• Food and nutrition training is available to providers for in-service credit at no cost to the provider.

• Approved menus are provided taking the worry out of menu planning.

• Child care centers can use a state approved caterer who will prepare and deliver meals and disposable paper products daily.
